Just Us Girls #386 - Photo Week

It's photo week at Just Us Girls and those are always fun.  We'd love to see how you're inspired by the photo that Vicki chose.
I don't have any teapot stamps or dies but I have plenty of butterflies. Here's how Vicki's photo inspired me.
I stamped and heat embossed a PTI Beautiful Butterfly on Limeade Ice cardstock.  Then I used my Distress Oxides to stamp the insets.  That's the great thing about those inks.  They are opaque so you can stamp them on colored cardstock.  I used one of the colors for the word 'beautiful' that comes from the set and added the rest in VersaFine Onyx Black.

Now it's your turn.  What inspires you in the photo?  Make a card and you could be chosen Chic of the Week.  I'd like to thank Nance Salkeld for all the wonderful cards she made this month as our guest designer.

Tag You're It! #68

It's time for another challenge at Tag You're It! and the guest designer is Gayatri Murali.  She has this cute tag for our inspiration.
I recently got some PB dog stamps and I used one to make my tag.
The dog is colored with Zigs, fussy cut and foam mounted on the HA tag cut from brick paper.  He is just so cute I thought 'hugs' was the perfect sentiment for the tag and used a die from SSS.

We hope you'll make a tag and enter it in the challenge.  For inspiration, check out the TYI design team's tags on the blog.

Addicted to CAS #107

Barb has chosen 'seaside' as our code word at Addicted to CAS this week. This conjured up so many images for me.  When we used to be Alabama snowbirds, my husband and I walked the beach almost every day and picked up shells along the way. That's what inspired my card.
I used my MFT Sea Life dies to make this little scene on the watercolored sky and sand.  I cut the starfish and sand dollar from coaster paper, adding gesso to the sand dollar and colored texture paste to the starfish. The other shells were cut from a scrap of inked paper in my stash.  It took a while to find a sentiment - always a dilemma for me - but went with this one from PTI embossed in white.

Stamplorations is the sponsor for this challenge and are offering a $10 voucher to their store.
The Design Team has some wonderful inspiration for you over at the ATCAS blog.  Check them out and then enter your card in the gallery.

Just Us Girls #385 - Color Week

It's Color Week at Just Us Girls and Lisa has chosen pink, purple and gray.
What's better than pink and purple flowers?
I used Altenew's Painted Flowers on a stitched rectangle and put it on Slate cardstock, even though it looks black here. The leaves are also gray.  It sure is difficult to get good color even with an editing program. :(

Why don't you head on over to Just Us Girls to see what the Design Team did with these colors.  If you make a card you could be chosen Chic of the Week and have a chance to be a guest designer like Nance Salkeld.

Curtain Call - Fluff

One last card before I'm off on vacation.  You'll see a number of scheduled posts while I'm gone and I will be taking some stamped images and my Zigs so I'll have some things to make when I get home.

This card is for Curtain Call.  I knew I had the right stamp for this and made it in a hurry amongst the packing.

I used Geo Builders from Catherine Pooler and the lightest of the three blue Altenew inks.  The label is from Avery Elle with a sentiment from PTI embossed in silver.  I never use brads any more but the label needed something and these were the exact color, despite what you see on screen, of the bottom ink.

Thanks for dropping by.  Keep on crafting and hopefully I'll be able to comment.  If not I'll see you when I get back.
